Hello, my name is Jesse Wingert and I am the graphic designer and creative guy behind WordPress Now. I’m here to share a little bit of my secrets – if you will – about where to get some inspiration when it comes to making a color scheme for your website.
First, I do want to take a few steps backwards and just mention that this post is really for anyone, regarding any type of project – WordPress or otherwise. When us creative folk are developing a website, a new WordPress blog, an artsy picture, or even choosing which colors to use in our new living room, we need to come up with a color scheme. Color schemes work for several different purposes…
They work firstly as a very crucial piece of your product or company branding. Almost every successful company has established itself a set of colors that people immediately recognize and associate with that company. Google uses blue, red, yellow and green. McDonalds used red and yellow. The popular soda company, Pepsi, uses red, blue and sometimes a variation of grey. At WP Now, we use a mixture of dark grey and a few bright colors like teal, pink, and lime green, and these colors are involved with every aspect of our company. We use them with our logo, website, our business cards, t-shirts and anything else we can think of.

Hello everyone, today I am going to blog about the special theme features we have included in our Elements and Triumph WordPress themes.
Triumph
The first theme I am going to talk about is Triumph, Triumph was created mainly for the business crowd, featured design elements you would look for in a professional business-type blog. The homepage has three different boxes that can be used for featuring a blog post or page with a thumbnail. (See below)
Another feature included with the Triumph theme is a breadcrumb trail for pages and posts (See below). The breadcrumb trail uses the WordPress plugin Breadcrumb NavXT to handle the generation of the breadcrumb. Breadcrumbs are an important feature for easy accessibility of a web page, almost all major websites have one in some form or another.

Our newest theme, Elements, has just been released and we couldn’t be more proud. Though we always had faith in Captain Planet, we feel that this mixture of fire, ice, water and lightning gives the our super-hero friend something to look-up to.
Elements is not another nature theme, it’s a wicked dark, yet colorful magazine theme that serves us with many different purposes. A blog about entertainment could use Elements to the theme’s full potential, but it doesn’t stop there. Since the design is targeted towards the artistic and creative, you could also use Elements for a portfolio or multimedia blog. And the theme is filled with an assortment of bright colors, so you could actually apply it to work well with any type of blog, but I’m just pointing out the obvious.

We all want to succeed in some way or another, it is just in our nature. Those of you that have businesses may want to take it to the world wide web to show it off and get recognition globally. Triumph will help you do just that.
Though this theme could also be used for your personal blog, we’ve designed it from the ground-up to work for your professional business blog. Because of its simple design structure, users will find it very easy to navigate and they will be comfortable while browsing the website. However, this doesn’t mean that the site lacks when it comes to the visual and functional department department – it’s actually quite the opposite.

We’ve just completed our first theme here at WP Now, and it’s got quite a catchy name, how does Bloom sound?
Introducing Bloom…
Bloom was created to fit nicely on save-the-world type blogs or nature sites with its calm color scheme blue, green and grey.
We decided to start things rolling with a two column layout with categories and pages appearing in the top menu, followed by a very unique styled search box.
